As many of you know, we are in the middle of a flu epidemic in our state. Since school is back in session and students will be indoors in close proximity to one another, we are asking parents to be aware that if your child is sick (running a fever, vomiting, etc.) please take the necessary precautions and do not send them to school. According to the CDC, the following are the symptoms of the flu: fever (Not everyone with the flu will have a fever), cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, body aches, headache, chills, fatigue, and sometimes diarrhea and vomiting. The students that run a fever should be fever free for 24 hours prior to their return to school. This means 24 hours without medications such as Tylenol, Advil, etc. Please remember to send doctors excuses for days missed.
